And it just keeps getting better...

Well, sort of.

Colin has an inguinal hernia and has to have surgery. Boo :-( On the bright side, this type of hernia is extremely common in babies and the surgery is routine. The surgeon is AMAZING! He is so nice & personable. He made Mark and I so comfortable because he made it perfectly clear that Colin is his boss and he won't do anything to jeopardize his safety. I've made it clear to anyone who will listen lately that I hate Mercy and all medical staff associated with that hospital. I mean, is it a pre-requesite that all nurses working for Mercy have to be bitches?!  This doctor (Doctor Gold-Chain-Hairy-Chest as Mark and I referred to him) and his staff restored my faith in Mercy...but only a little ;-). Colin will have to stay overnight in the hospital and we'll be able to stay with him. Thank goodness! I cannot imagine leaving him at the hospital all by himself.

I've always said that Colin has my pain tolerance and he proved it yesterday after having his shots. I was so worried that his legs would be sore and he would just cry all night but he only needed one dose of infant Tylenol last night. What a tough guy!

The decongestant is working so well. After only one dose, his congestion is completely gone! His gas and fussiness are also getting so much better after switching him to the sensitive formula. I've heard from a lot of parents that they had to use that type of formula with their kids so when baby # 2 comes around, I think we'll just start with that type (unless breastfeeding is successful - fingers crossed!).

So that's the update. Things are definitely looking up!
