Ch-Ch-Changes!

Oy! What a week! Lots of new and exciting things have been happening around here...

First up, we have a summer house guest! My best friend, Jaci, is spending the summer with us. I'm so excited to have her here - she's someone I confide in a lot and I value her opinion so much. Let's just say she showed up in the nick of time ;)

On the work front...I got a new job! And (not to beat a dead horse but) just in the nick of time!

I was offered the job from Company B on Monday, turned in my 2 week notice at Company A on Tuesday and on Thursday almost the entire work force of Company A was told that our jobs were being transferred to a different company (Company C). Basically the jobs were outsourced. Bummer but honestly, the employment offers from Company C weren't terrible. They were pretty comparable to current salary & benefits at Company A.

The message all of us were given by Company A is "Take it or be unemployed". Um...yikes. I can't tell you how relieved I am that I am not being "forced" to work for another company. I'm also relieved that Mark's job was retained by Company A. I am so, so, so thankful we both still have stable jobs & stable salaries.

At Company B, I am gaining a better schedule - I'll actually get to leave when I'm scheduled to instead of when someone tells me I can go. I don't have to depend on how hard others work during the day in order to leave on time. My work is my work. If I'm behind, I only have myself to blame for working overtime.

I won't lie and say I didn't get stressed out with everything that happened last week. I totally did! I am admittedly an eternal pessimist BUT I'm optimistic of all the new adventures coming our way :)
